About

I’m from Wisconsin, but now reside in New York.

I have a BA from Lawrence University in Linguistics, though I also studied a lot of music and math while I was there, too.

I have an MA from NYU Steinhardt in Digital Media Design for Learning (here’s some of what I did while I was there)

I love learning about new technology and helping people implement it effectively.

I also love equipping people with new skills that will serve them in the future.

That’s how I ended up in the program at Steinhardt.

I’m also really interested in informal learning experiences (stuff that happens outside a classroom, think: museums, parks, other public spaces).

I studied Russian in college, and spent a semester in Krasnodar, Russia. My Russian’s getting a little rusty, so let me know if you want to practice.

I love to tinker.

I play the tuba.

I also do audio theater work, which means I help build and set up and take down the sound systems for shows, and also help run the sound during the shows.

I hate settling on a solution that only fixes a problem right here and right now. I want to solve that problem for the future, and for other people, too. I want to solve it for good, so we don’t have to worry about it anymore.

In that same vein, even if I can’t do the job you need done, I’d still love to connect you to resources that will help move you in the right direction. I want to help you get closer to finding your solutions.

As a world, we need to do a lot more connecting to other people, resources, and information, and spend less time isolated in our individual bubbles.

Thanks again for stopping by,

Nissa
